I think I’ll pre order the mana collection from the square store. Been hoping that would get an English translation.

After reading lots of negative comments about Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night yesterday I arrived home determined to try and enjoy the game anyway but when I put it in I found a bigger issue than all of the performance and graphics issues I’d been reading about all day, you can’t play this game without hooking your Switch up to the internet, creating a Nintendo account, and linking your console to that account. If you don’t have a linked account then you just get a popup after the profile select that gives you 3 options: link an account, show an info screen about linking an account, or Cancel (which takes you back to profile select). I’d love to be wrong but there really appears to be no way to play my physical copy of Shitstained: Ritual of the Shite without internet so it looks like I’ll be returning it. It really annoys me how practically everything wants to connect to the internet nowadays and it's getting to the point where things are useless without it even though there's no reason why they should be.

I'm not seeing anything else on the internet about the Switch port having any DRM. I'll shut my wifi off later and try my copy just to see. Maybe it's requiring updates due to some serious bugs, after which offline play will be possible?

When I see stuff like this I tend to think “DRM” myself but don't really see why additional DRM would be needed. The screen seems to imply that the game will work regardless of whether you’re actually connected so long as you have a linked account but let me know how it goes. The only mention of this I’ve been able to find is in this thread about some Switch hack/cheat tool but it was just someone requesting a feature be added to it to bypass this. They appear to have done it but I don’t want to mess with it; just want a stock, offline Switch to play carts on.

Side note sega virtual racing will be hitting the u.s for june 27th I really hope Sega compiles at least some of the Sega Ages titles into a Cartridge release. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

I suppose it could like what happen with the 3DS releases.Still id say a big if since currently sega ages releases, have sold well in the west for the switch but not in japan. There's rumors that sega is frustrated over it currently.

This is cool. I never play mine in the dock, nor do I use the joycons detached. HD rumble is nice sometimes though.

I think having something I Can keep in my backpack and something I can leave at the house, in addition to playing handheld multiplayer with my wife, make this tempting to me as an existing Switch owner and fan. I do wonder how saves will work; if you have a subscription to the Nintendo Online service do your saves stick with your account and transfer to all systems attached to that account?
