Looking really good! That road is solid and the scaling replacements look great!

This is very smooth in this form. I hope you're able to add content and retain this great smoothness.

I'm really enjoying watching the progress of your game, Punch! I'm enjoying it too I looked back at my previous attempt at developing a racing game and I really wonder wtf I was doing back then, there's no way it would have gone anywhere. It's night and day comparing it to what I'm developing now.

Almost done with the metasprite editor. It's simple but doing UI in python is legitimately annoying and I only have weekends to work on it. I should have new updates soon.

Out of curiosity what are you doing the the ui in? I keep flopping between pyqt5 and Tkinter and find myself frustrated with both for opposite reasons lol

I do like QT tbh, but I am a rookie at coding and so maybe the fact that qt designer is a kind of nice wysiwyg for a starting point, but the table handling is incredibly difficult for me tkinter has some pretty cool features turboxray suggested I give it a shot for a tool I was working on a few months ago and I was glad I learned it, we started embedding it into some of our tools and it's been nice.

Had to pause this for a while due to real life taking priority, but I've resumed work. Now I can generate sprite data easily and import it into the game, plus I've fixed some inaccuracies in my perspective projection thingamajigs.
Game looking good for what's in place

Why does it feel like I clicked on "like" for this post at least 5 times but it never stuck?
I need to sit down and check it out if I'm doing any UI work going forward because dealing with dearpygui definitely sapped some of the energy I had for this. Haha.
Anyway, I think I figured out a nice way of cheaply moving cars around horizontally and it's a bit of an obvious solution in hindsight. That's something I'll implement next, It's not like Pole Position needs actual AI-having cars but they do move between left, center and right in the road sometimes.

I promise I tried to get it but I can't, please explain later lol.
I promise I'm still working on this game! Implemented curves and off-screen sprite clipping which honestly aren't big deals with how the code is set up at the moment. But hey, it's something, right?
