Woohoo! I've ordered one, and I'm looking forward to getting to work on an assembly-language development library and example projects for it. Krikkz has released some CC65 example projects, and what may well be the FPGA source code here ... github.com/krikzz/turbo-ed-pro-pub

220 dollars plus shipping? Holy shit! I thought my GBA Everdrive X5 Mini was expensive, but this is on a different level... Well, it's designed as a CD-ROM and Arcade Card replacement, like a $240 Terraonion SSD3 ... but different, and probably with better hardware. Most folks may want to hold off for a while and wait to see how well it works (mono audio???), and it (currently) seems to me like a questionable investment for anyone that owns a PCE/TGX DUO ... but what do I know.

Did your, or do all, versions include usb? I noticed the executable name changed, and I am super curious about the differences with the usb functionality. The turbo2usb exe and ted2 have been invaluable for checking builds across hardware and displays, but I feel like the TED2 is thicker than normal hucard and every time I move it I cringe that I may be messing up my console pins. Glad more usb TEDs are available for developers, on Twitter I saw a few are picking them up too… FOMO!!

I hear you ... I dread taking the TED2 out of my DUO, and basically never do so, which means that I've been unable to really write/verify any Arcade Card library support. But OTOH, the TED2 was vitally useful in getting my new CD-ROM and HuVIDEO libraries tested on real-hardware (showing up at-least one error in mednafen's CD emulation). Both TED Pro colors currently come with USB included, and I hope that Krikzz keeps it that way. The hardware is *totally* different to the TED2, and it seems to contain an onboard processor for handling USB communication, SDcard access and CD emulation, all separately from the PCE's CPU. The USB link now seems to allow for a bunch of things that you couldn't previously do, and I've seen reports of Krikzz actually using it to directly play a CD game from a file on a host PC ... which would be absolutely magical for developing CD games. Since I already own both SuperGRAFX and CoreGRAFX consoles, this hardware makes sense for me, even though the CD audio is currently only available in mono (until/if the Expansion Port audio board is released).

Thanks elmer, the sales pitch I didn’t need resonates, and I feel like any dollar tossed towards Krikzz is well spent… going to need to find some budget wiggle room for this asap. I know it sounds ridiculous but a way to push new builds without physically touching the system would be awesome, and I wonder what debug hookups are to be had. Time to dig further, thanks again. Looking forward to hearing your hands on report!

added that it looks like it won't play cd games on Duo systems to the op. I wonder if its the same thickness as the older everdrives?
I will probably get one for my US TurboGrafx eventually, but going to hold off for a while and see how people like it.

added that it looks like it won't play cd games on Duo systems to the op. Yep, it detects that you already have a CD attached, and disables its own CD-emulation ... although the Arcade Card emulation is supposed to still work on a DUO. So for DUO owners it just offers Arcade Card support and a 4MByte Street Fighter mapper for homebrew, which seems to make it of highly-questionable value for those folk.

For a select few the USB functions will still be nice, but only for developing HuCards.

I have a Duo-R and TG-16... I'd like to have this for TG-16 but it does not have stereo support, I guess not even my Turbo Booster will help.

Very cool that this exists and gives another option over the SD system 3 to emulate the CD drive.
He may not ever do it at this point with the Pro now being available but I always wished he would just make a revised version of the V2 everdrive that had more memory on board. So it could be used as an Arcade Card. This would be a great option for people who already own a CD drive or DUO .

I got a chance to try mine out. I love it! It has the option to set the mixing levels for CDDA and ADPCM. SHD3pro originally had this, but they took it out which really annoyed me. Some games just have lower than optimal CDDA (CD audio) levels compared to PSG sound FX in games (Gate of Thunder being one of them). So it's great that I can set this to my liking. Also, unlike the SHD3pro, this doesn't randomly crash on CD games. The emulation accuracy is pretty great too (can play Sherlock Holmes games correctly). I'm currently using it with my SGX. I need to get the Turbonanza board to go with it (really want that native svideo output with original colors).

Let us know how good the Turbonanza looks... I have a good feeling about it, but a lack of monitors to actually exercise it with. However... I understand that it also incorporates the circuitry needed for stereo audio on the TurboED Pro...
