First post here and a link below to images - mods pls delete if this is not appropriate, I’m a newbie!
I have a pc engine that displays a smaller image than my other pce or core, when hooked up to my crt via one of those cheap rgb adapters or my super system 3 - it’s very odd. Clarity is fine but the image is shrunk.
Inside is the monster mod you see on the pics….it appears soldered to the rf box plus to points on the underside of the board…it’s horrific!!
Any ideas what this is and if I remove it and the rf module, will an rgb mod still work?
Pics here and again my apologies if this is not protocol:
When you say “smaller image”, do you mean that the vertical size is smaller (for example, with bars of empty space at top or bottom), or do you mean that both vertical and horizontal dimensions are smaller ?
From your descriptiin, this might be a PAL mod; if so, the action in games would likely also be slower (about 5/6 of normal speed).

tron: I hate strictlylimitedgames jash even more so when they get the rights for physical release of anything by taito.

spenoza: It occurs to me that this same limited physical release approach has hit other hobbies as well, like tabletop role playing games. Companies in that space that aren't Hasbro are all small and so they tend to do limited prints of books and then lean on pdfs.
