I don't really use mednafen a lot but I don't think you can edit the sprites. Are you wanting to get into pce dev by editing sprites and learning how to use debugger an such? There's a huc tutorial here obeybrew.com/tutorials.html.

Tiled is a must for development, good to see you playing with it.Even if your not interested in programing having some knowledge of how this stuff works is a major plus. What type of Bonk mini games did you design?

Is huc.exe a program I'm supposed to download first? I typed huc hello.c w/ cmd, but that didn't work. Did you get this working? There is a dev discord you can join to get real time help from programmers,Dark Kobold helped a new programmer in huc and he's doing quite good.Dk can give you details on how to join that channel he is in,having an active programmers help is like finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

No, I found a book on Amazon I liked and was going to read that first. I did try Discord, but it wasn't for me. But don't worry about it. I'm at the point, anyway, where I want to learn, and understand, the hardware first. I'm at the abacus, basically.

If you find C to difficult to learn try something else,if,else, functions, arrays ect is important to learn no matter even if it's in basic.Learning programming is just like learning to speak another language, you're learning to speak computer language.A person that has learnt to speak more then one language can easily learn another, and another ect..it's the same for programming languages. The first one is the most difficult and 90% of people fail but if determined 100% to learn it's possible,I've seen people with no programming experience learn 6502 asm and nes hardware, one of these people thought the 6502 instruction "jmp" was to make mario jump ....it's 100% possible to succeed.

'Bits are information. At the conceptual level they are the smallest piece of information you can have. If you have a "yes or no" type question, a bit can hold the answer. Either "yes", or "no". For computers, which work with electrical signals, "yes or no" is represented by "on or off". Off is 0 (no signal), while On is 1 (a signal). Ever wonder why the symbol on power switches is a circle with a verical stripe coming through it? It's a stylized 0 and a 1. Speaking of power switches, that's where transistors come in. Transistors are basically little electrical switches. So you can use them to let an electrical current through or stop it: "0" or "1", "yes" or "no". Because 0 and 1 are so important in computers it makes sense to represent numbers in terms of 0 and 1. That's where counting in binary comes in.' I was here once, your thinking is at the basic level,1 & 0..simple right?
