Good news! If you were apprehensive about scratching up your valuable PCEWorks disc games by feeding them into the Analogue Duo, you can instead scratch them up by feeding them into the highly collectible Mega Engine!

Guessing it’s like a Pi with a CD drive, basically.

I’m equally amused by the grossness of this guy, but still haven’t had a single CD scratched by any drive, slot loading or otherwise. You might just be going full blue shadows on this scratches thing for no reason.

Same as you, never had an issue.

it's possible that during the first generation of slot in cd players/rom readers (esp car cd players) during the late 80s and early 90s that their was a possibilty of scratched disc due to early technology and primative mechanics, but over the years, the technology has progressed and it's very unlike a modern slot in cd/dvd/bluray will scratch any disc.

I disagree. If anything is going to scratch a disc it’s going to be the cheap flimsy crap they are making now. I just don’t think it’s at all likely from either. The Playstation 2 is the one drive mostly likely to ruin a disc and it usually only ruins Playstation 2 stuff, thankfully. That P(o)S would sometimes overextend the lens until it bottomed out on the disc.
