Considering what it is capable to do, the asking price of ~USD200 is quite cheap. Hope it would be a success to make more hobbyists to dive into creating cores for cool stuff (such as a PCE core) with the extra FPGA.

Yes, I have my eye on that too, though it's still not clear when it'll be available. So many things going for it, too: - it's portable, yet FPGA - this is new - huge library - docking station But the icing on the cake is the additional FPGA for developer use... I wonder what they have in mind (what is the part number, how large is it, what is power consumption like, and how does it interconnect with the rest of the architecture ?) Taken from the MiSTer project, here are some measures of resource requirements - but I suspect that a lot of the usage will be for audio/video filters and I/O, which the Analogue may embed on its primary FPGA: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wHetlC0RqFnBcqzGEZI8SWi6tlHFxl_ehpaokDwg7CU/edit#gid=0It seems pretty obvious that *somebody* will do some work to port something or other from one project to the other. It's just a question of how challenging that might be. (...And note that the usage for the PC Engine core seems a little high, and doesn't even include the CDROM unit - there could be something implemented a bit inefficiently...)

I'm excited for this too. I'm a big GB collector but I also have some NGPC games and I'd love to just play them on this vs. getting a backlight for my original system. I also started a lynx collection with the intention of buying a lynx II with a screen mod, again, with a lynx adapter this would be better for me I think. No GG games yet although a few interest me - it's just that I don't own a GG and like the lynx, I'd want to buy the system with a screen mod and that can get kinda pricey. They are making all of these cartridge adapters - I think a hu-card one to get the turboexpress vibe would be pretty sweet.

that's my exact situation re: the lynx as well! I reckon now maybe I don't need one! that thing was so big it'd be unwieldy to carry around anyway.

It certainly seems nice. I was looking at the order page, but for the thing to be worthwhile for me I'd need a bunch of the accessories, and I just wasn't comfortable spending that much money. Especially as by the time I would have been putting my order in, I'd likely be looking at getting it in 2023.
