Nothing we haven't seen before, but it's neat seeing all the display options right next to each other. Even the announcer has basically nothing to say about the games that are repeats in both languages, haha!

It kinda resembles that one narrator from the promo tape, doesn't it?

That was very informative, thanks. Some of the stuff about the timing of enemies in Daimakaimura I personally had never heard before despite endless threads comparing the graphics of each version. After seeing them all together I for sure will not be buying the US version. It’s hideous and double the size for no reason, just like the original. I wonder if they built a new oversized PCB to fit the case like they did in 89.

Got a pre-orde if the US unit for Christmas. I’m very excited. I don’t mind if it’s a bit larger. Still smaller than a lot of what’s hooked up to my tv.

I'd be tempting to just get the PCE mini, but I don't mind the size and look of the Turbo, since it overwhelms me with nostalgia from my childhood.

For me it overwhelms me with memories of a big giant dumb looking PCE that nobody liked or bought until they were all reduced to about 1/4 their original price five years later. It was a design made just for Americans and they didn’t buy it, a very distant last in the 16-bit scene. It was therefore what would usually be a “bad” design so I appreciate them making it for all the 40 year olds who still play with Ninja Turtles but having to pay double for a less hideous design because they are restricting Americans to only the ugly version...yeah, I have to say, that is pretty nostalgic because that is for sure what NEC did 30 years ago. It’s nostalgic in a negative way. We’re stuck with the crap version BY DESIGN just like in the 80s. I would rather they never made the TG-16 case since it means I’m stuck with the big dumb brick or I’m importing from Play Asia for who knows how much of a markup for identical hardware/software.

Do you like anything? Or does just everything suck all the time?
The PC Engine is unlikely to ever have been a success in the US. There is no hypothetical scenario I can come up with in which the system was successful in the US against the competition. And the TG mini has, IMO, a slightly better game selection.

European Turbografx + Everdrive with Fullset combo = godlike. Do you like anything? Or does just everything suck all the time? The PC Engine is unlikely to ever have been a success in the US. There is no hypothetical scenario I can come up with in which the system was successful in the US against the competition. 1988 release with PCE form factor and with NEC not scaring off Electronic Arts from the platform/acting as a publisher for everyone.
