"Sega just confirmed on the Sega Fes livestream that Sega Ages developer M2 is, indeed, doing the software for the Genesis Mini". Sega will release its the Sega Genesis Mini worldwide on September 19, it said today. It will include 40 different games, and at least some versions will have Gunstar Heroes and Castlevania Bloodlines. While Sega was light on details about the Mini in its stage presentation, it did say the 6-button controller would be the same size as the original’s, and that the games would have a save-anywhere function. The menu music for the device was composed by legendary Streets Of Rage composer Yuzo Koshiro In Japan at least, it will be sold in two variations: with one controller for 6,980 yen (about $60), and with two controllers for 8,980 yen (about $80). Sega did not immediately announce the pricing or any specific games for the U.S. version. kotaku.com/sega-will-release-the-genesis-mini-on-september-19-1833681956

It's $80 in the US and comes with two controllers.
I just preordered on Amazon. Thought I'd get in on it right away, and cancel my order later if I decide to. Very glad that M2 has been confirmed to be handling the games.

Also to note retrobit will be offering six button controllers for the genesis mini.

Final 10 games announced for u.s/europe genesis mini.I guess sega was listening when i suggesting on the segabitz video that monster world iv should be on it Still i'm very annoyed that jpn get's musha while u.s/europe don't get it.Still i'm baffled why VF2 is on it i'd rather play the arcade original or saturn port instead. If sega needed another fighter, fatal fury 2 would have been better choice beside how it plays it puts the neo-geo original to shame.

Somebody at Sega must like that VF2 port, because it never misses a Genesis collection. I kind of expected Mortal Kombat II, but I guess they didn't do that. Still, there's lots of rare and interesting stuff, plus M2 going over the top again and creating two brand-new arcade ports. This actually looks really good.

I anticipate getting this for my birthday, looking forward to it. I might also pick up the Japanese version down the line. Just for fun, here's which games I am looking forward to and which ones I would have dropped for others. We all know they needed to shoot for a good all-around collection to please as many people as possible, so it's understandable why these titles were chosen in the long run.
+ Alisia Dragoon (Good choice! Never see this one on other collections) + Bloodlines (Great to have more affordable ways to play this great Castlevania entry, even though I bought the Castlevania collection too) + Hard Corps (same as above) + Ghouls'n Ghosts - Love this game, though my favorite version is still the Supergrafx one. + Light Crusdader (One of the few Treasure games from this era I haven't played through, been meaning to) + Monster World IV (Bought this on 360, but I love a good game being translated for the system years afterwards) - Street Fighter 2 (on every single collection ever, I wouldn't have wasted another slot for this) - Earthworm Jim (Great animation, but just not a fan of these types of platformers) - Kid Chameleon (Always seemed like a well below average experience)
I would have loved to have, present on the Japan or Asia versions: MUSHA, Alien Soldier, Langrisser II, Shining Force II, The Hybrid Front, Revenge of Shinobi, Yu Yu Hakusho. Hence why I may get the JPN version. Musha I believe is particularly expensive and would have been a good one to have on the US version.
Other games I would have loved to see: Ex-Ranza, Granada.

Got mine last week.Pros emulation is pretty spot on and the selection is great expect for two games.Cons sound effects and music can lag but it's hardly noticeable plus i think alex kidd and VF2 are a waste. All in all a solid plug'n'play by M2 and Sega a much better effort compared to what sony had in there mini.Dunno if i'll import the jpn model later on there are people looking into hacking it all ready.
