Falling in lava or water is the worst. The fluid knocks back your character rather than a gradual life-drain. You have to keep facing backwards in order to get out of a situation like this. I remember a bug where if you get an item from an old woman and you leave the room before you grab it, the item is gone and you need to reset. Yeah that's right, forgot how much it sucked falling in water. You have to face your character in the opposite direction when you're about to take more water damage so it pushes you in the same direction. Might just be me, but I have very little trust in 80's/90's games, even save states are sketchy. I'd never leave a room without taking an item essential to finishing the game. Not that that's an excuse for shotty programming though, I just expect games to be like that I guess. Zelda 2 first comes to mind, I've done so many resets due to items glitching/disappearing than any other game I can think of

Like many 16-bit consoles games, I didn't realize that Cadash was an arcade port until I stumbled upon a cabinet at a large arcade in a bigger town. It was the same place I discocered that Super Darius is also an arcade port.
Although the arcade version seemed very similar at the time, once I was able to compare it through emulation I found that I enjoy the Turbo/PCE,version most of all. I was also surprised years later when some people complained about the sound, because I've always felt that it really compmimented the experience.
