Not going to be able to read all of the comments above but my favorite part of PCEFX was the chat box back in the day. Going in there and chatting with all the guys: Paranoia Dragon, Arkhan, Keranu, many many others. That was good times....

DISCLAIMER: A big hug to everyone, even if I don't mention your name/quote your post, I read everything Also, this is not even my "proper" post about pcefx, but just a quick reply to folks who posted already. Ha! First, I am glad that I pulled out my laptop this morning, since my stoopid brain can't remember my password to login on my phone. Second, ignore the previous sentence, what I am *actually* grateful for is jlued's post. He captured so much sentiment that many of us share. Thanks. Third, if some of you folks may remember how desperate we were for a "community" back in late 90's and early 2000's, you will appreciate the "website rings" (I can't remember the term, but a "ring" was just a "network" of websites that tried to support one another)... well, there were a bunch of tg-16/pce "rings", but it was far from a community... Fourth, there was a time when pcefx was DEAD (ghost town) and magic forums were a billion times more lively and interesting. This was the early, first few years of pcefx. It was very much a "drive-by" sort of place... someone would ask a questions, or share some anecdotes, never to be heard from again. Ever. Fast-forward 5-6 years and we have drama. Hilarious. It was the first forum I ever signed up for, and I fucked up the username and wound up getting stuck with "jlued686", which was my college email address. Took me years to get that fixed! (Thanks Necro!) I still translate your moniker into "jlued" because that is what is imprinted in my gray cells. Plus, I am also guilty of choosing usernames poorly. "stevek666" is worse than yours! I can't believe how long it has been. RIDICULOUS. ...I joined PC Engine FX in search for the same kind of community that the Turbo List had. What I found was different, but still good, at least at the time. There were a bunch of Turbo List expats, including, occasionally, BT himself, and Dave, and others. Same here, List-serv to PCFX...I think the SS/PS1 was released in between my cross over and I had a little obey falling out but I never sold off my turbob, it just got a little dusty. SS was to me the new turbo. I also think it's been great here, because I have discovered folks I didn't interact as much with at PCEFX. There are lots of newer faces I didn't appreciate there because of all the drama. And now, here, those no-longer-so-new faces can flourish in a new space, without the Drama Llama weighing them down. And I can finally discover how awesome so many of you are to chat and post with in a way I didn't appreciate before. I appec a little drama now and then, keeps things active. On the old BBS days, a good argument always increased traffic. But even back then, we did in-person meetups so I would never get to heated b/c I knew I'd meet these avatars in person at some point. I always try to keep that in mind rather than be a keyboard warrior, safe in my mommys basement. I think the best part of PCFX was meeting fellow obeyers at shows like MGC and AVGC. I'm fortunate to have the ability to travel for gaming, and getting up with forum members is always a highlight. I'm still having issues with this forum software...I'd really like to have a "show unread posts" like other forums but I'm sure I'll figure it out here. I just hope I do not miss a good conversation! One of these years I am going to make it out to Southern Canada and go to MGC or the "Turbo Fest" at (near?) Galloping Ghost just to meet folks. IT IS A PILGRIMAGE. That is what it is. The Turbo Mailing List... I followed the digests, but it didn't feel like a community. I ignored 99% of posts about buying/selling, because I didn't have room in my tiny apartments for stuff. USE THIS: pcengine.proboards.com/threads/recent(Paul, I am like MAJORS, I love hitting a button and continuing from where I last left off...) I remember years ago (probably over 10)I found a Sapphire proto on YJA. I posted the link to it for discussion and man it turned into a shit storm lol. Thibaut chimed in about buying it. The holy jebus! thread. www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=7133.0EDIT: Going back and reading old posts of mine I want to slap myself. Hahahahhahahhhaa. Now that is hilarious. IF YOU ARE STILL READING THIS then you are bored. Go here: www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=23385.msg522051#msg522051I didn't have time/energy for a proper post, but I had fun trying to wrap things up a little bit.

I found out about PCEFX back in 2011 (I think?), I was thinking about how I am a noob since I joined recently but it's been 8 years already lol.
A couple of years ago, when I had surgery I had plenty of time in bed to play videogames... I never cared for older games but a fuse in my brain just went off when I remembered all the games I used to play with my father. My journey into retrogaming started with that and expanded into what it is now lol. I joined PCEFX mainly because of my interest of making PCE games and Tatsujin style users spamming obey in other forums. I enjoyed that place very much and it's a shame that it eventually imploded as hard as it did.
