I did not watch the BBQ show. It just made me hungry. I like in the midwest, now, and it's much harder to find truly good smoked pulled pork BBQ. The sauce is actually the easy part. It's the meat that's truly the art. Can you get American-style breakfast sausage there in the UK? If you can, look for the stuff with less fat (but don't actually go full-on lean). You'll end up with more sausage chunks in the gravy, but it will be a tad less heavy. Is breakfast sausage just loose meat instead of links? We have that here a

You know what, me and my friend seem to have started a tradition where we get each other calendars (last year we made each other calendars, and I put a lot of work into hers but she lost it ) But making a calendar together would be an awesome tradition if you have kids and like crafts

You guys would love my mom's southern-style cornbread. It's not sweet, nor gritty either. It's hard to describe but when it's made in a cast iron pan it's just the bees knees.

I have a lush cast iron pan - reckon you could get me the recipe? Also, I read that the way that they used to treat corn used to be different and it had a natural sweetness, hence why people tend to add sugar these days. Ingredients might be hard to come by over here, but I can try!

Best place for odd grains is always Sainsburys but most major supermarkets have it in some form. Might be labelled polenta. Sometimes can find it in Afro Caribbean aisle or world foods aisle
