Air Zonk, is a Hudson adaptation of the prehistoric Bonk series into a futuristic shoot-em-up. As noted, the Cute-em-up Coryoon was something of a dry run for this game, featuring some similar mechanics. This game features a banging soundtrack, whacky enemies, and some top notch shooting action. This one is actually one of my fave shooters for the Engine, it's not too difficult, but it's also not afraid to try different things. You can join up with a friend halfway through a level to for a humungous beast with some insane firepower, or alternatively sometimes you can miniaturise yourself for help dodging bullets. Bosses are quite challenging, but very inventive (and very large). There isn't anything quite like this anywhere else, and it's great.
Adventure Island, AKA Dragons Curse, AKA Wonderboy III is a fun Master System conversion. This is one is a nice bridge between a light RPG and arcade action. I'd say it's a bit more like something like Links Adventure on the NES, or Bikkuriman World. You get to shapeshift into different monsters that can navigate the environment in different ways, which lends a nice bit of gameplay variation, and perhaps a puzzle element of sorts. Apparently the game isn't very long, but I really need to get around to playing this as it looks really good. The graphics aren't much of a jump from the Master System, but it's at least a very faithful port.

Tough choice but voting for Air Zonk.

Kinda cool that the PCE got a somewhat improved port of the best (or 2nd best) Master System game
Air Zonk takes the cake though

Kinda cool that the PCE got a rehash of Coryoon with Bonk theme and somewhat downgraded audio.
Adventure Island takes the cake as the best Monster World game though.
