As the title says... Reach deep into your biological registers... What is your first memory at the movie theater?
Mine is very hazy, but my first theater memory is our family going to see The Black Hole. All I can remember is being absolutely terrified of Maximillian. My dad had to take me out of the movie because I was so scared lol You may as well have taken me to Friday the 13th lol that robot scared the shit out of me.

We had a 4 screen drive-in in Milwaukee...it died a bit after high school (RIP). We also had a single screen we went to and a few oddballs on the outskirts I very vaguely remember.
Very first I remember was at the 4 screener 1980...Flash Gordon, cant remember the 2nd feature.

We were pretty poor when I was very young, so we didn't go to the cinema much. I vaguely remember going to see The Black Cauldron with my friend. He was super hyped because he had the sticker album, I had no idea. Maybe we saw Willow too?
What I do remember (not cinema) was my mind being blown when I stayed around someone's house who had a video recorder. We woke up on Saturday morning and they were like "shall we watch ET?" and I was like "woah, is ET on? Like this early?" And they were trying to explain that they could play it whenever they wanted, and I just couldn't get my head around it.

I think for me it must have been Black Cauldron, by Disney. I would have been maybe 8. I didn't read the books until a couple years later. Definitely some spooky scenes in that film, at least for a kid.

I still remember the gasps and mumbling in the theater when Luke loses his hand, and Vader reveals he's lukes father. I was the little kid that yelled out... What! That's his daddy!? What!? One of my earlier memories is the marquee of one of my hometown's three theatres advertising a double feature of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

We had an awesome little 2-screen theater in my town called the Cosmo. It's still there; _jash knows what's up. Anyway, I'm pretty sure my first movie there was the re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1983. It was either that or Return of the Jedi, but I'm pretty certain it was Snow White. Come to think of it, I was practically seven years old at that time. How as that the first time my parents finally got around to taking me to the movies? WTF? Wait...I did see Private Eyes with Tim Conway and Don Knotts in the theater. I remember the cost of admission was one canned food item for charity. That movie came out in 1980, but I'm not sure it this was its first run. Either way, I still fucking adore that movie.

I think it was Fantasia. Going to the movies back then was a rare and expensive thing so we didn't go a lot. The VHS rental store was my main source of movies.

E.T.The Extra-Terrestrial,seen it as a kid three or four times in the theater. The first time I saw ET was on HBO...,which was a big fucking deal because we had just got cable, and even my parents were like holy shit... We can get real recent movies in the house commercial free? Score! The first movie I ever saw multiple times in theater was Rocky IV. My brother and I saw that 3 or 4 times over Christmas break that year. Gotta love the cold war 😂

Same, when we eventually got a video player. I guess I was around 10 or 11? And I texted my mom, she reckons Bambi was the first one I saw in the cinema.
