This is quite a project, eh? Soop's Epic Struggle! Literally. I bought this thinking I'd fix a cap and we'd be good to go. On the plus side, I'm learning a shit tonne - so far fairly specific to the GT, but I couldn't have imagined doing something like this even a year ago. At this point, I'm feeling like I can fix anything, given parts availability. It's very empowering. Also, a small update, it looks like it's possibly linked to the Hu6080. Hopefully it's just a trace somewhere (I'm actually suspecting it is, but then my luck hasn't been super strong with this yet)

Update 2. Traces from pin 31 of the hu6280 and the controller pcb connector are intact. So that points to a bad 6280

So close now. I replaced the Hu6820 amd that wasn't the problem. But I did get to a point where the buttons all worked. Looks like something is causeing button II to be always pressed. If I can solve that, I can finally be rid of this bastard thing
