I know it's not the right place, but I have a GB Micro that had a damaged charging port. I've replaced that, but it's still not charging. I'm 99% certain the solder job is good, I need to look elsewhere, but I can't find any gameboy forums that are knowledgeable

yeah, tried a few batteries, and the charger works fine with other GBMs. I'm wondering if I might have overheated something on the board when I removed the connector (with hot air), but it works perfectly when I reassembled apart from not charging.

This isn't mine, but I can see I probably need to check some of the components near the connector. If anyone has any idea what parts are related only to charging around that area (as in not essential to powering on and playing a game), that would be handy.

Looks like after some research, it might be that F2 fuse. I'll check that when I get the time

Is it even turning on? What I mean is, have you truly narrowed it down to a charging issue?
Perhaps you have enough residual charge to verify that the micro turns on. If not, it sounds like you have access to other micros where you can get a charged, known-good, battery to test with.
