Yeah the tile animation is terrible in Gong Fight(Ring Fighter),I find the game fun for an early boxing game.

I did add some color to it but didn't animate the crowd when I was playing with the idea of porting the arcade code over to pce.
This game was part of my trio of games I played in the arcade as a kid that I reverse engineered,Gong Fight,Kangaroo,Monster Bash,Kangaroo is the only game to get a home port.

Hahaha, yep! If you're really looking to get that "cute new project" feeling ... KickC's author released a new official-build today that incorporates the changes that we've been making to get KickC to work on the PC Engine (along with lots of his other bug-fixes and improvements). Since you have the assembly-language skills to write the library code to fill in any of HuC's PCE libraries that you feel are missing ... you might self-select to be an early adopter!

Good for you! Please let me know if you need any help understanding what's going on. While KickC and KickAssembler now fully-suuports the HuC6280 (as of today's release), I am going to continue along the path of using KickC with PCEAS in order to build large projects that need PCEAS's procedures. You'll find a couple of useful early KickC example projects in my HuC github repository (in the examples/asm/elmer/ directory).
