We went the Oculus quest route just because it seemed like a simpler set up. No wires, no TV/PS4/PC needed. You just put the headset on and play.
When I was chatting with DargonMeisterDamn the other day about it, he didn't care for Moss on PSVR because it seemed to have a static camera, but really you can get up and walk around as you are the camera. With all of the wires hanging everywhere on PSVR it made it a pain to move around. The Oculus is super convenient.
I hope you do dig Moss tho, regardless of what console you play it on. It's a trip!

I unpacked the mess of wires and dongles, and realized I need to mount a camera to my TV and then drape wires from the system to my head, and my two large rambunctious dogs make that logistically difficult when squared up to the TV. I thought I could just do it wherever the PS4 was with a monitor off to the side, so now I need to like put my dogs outside or something while I play.. gotta figure it out lol

Ugh that doesn't sound like fun then. Maybe I'll rethink my VR future

I am a big baby when it comes to cords draping and my dogs potentially running by and snagging them. When I play PCE for instance I pull my char close enough to the coffee table, and the coffee table close enough to the CRT, that the dogs don't even think about running that path (I've had enough systems/controllers yanked by a dog suddenly getting the excitement to tree the cat or something).
I also got the old version (I only bought it because of a very good deal), so the newer ones may be less of a PITA.
Tomorrow night is my night to try it out, I hope.

I've been playing nothing really at the moment, I just finished Tomb Raider and Hitman Absolution and now waiting for Metro Last Light, Grid 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. I will probably play some Red Alert 3 again in the meanwhile. I play sometimes some random games here

I tried out the PSVR finally, and while the setup only got more frustrating as I figured out all he cording and stuff,
- TV Mounted camera to the ps4 - AC powered box, with 1 hdmi to the box from the tv and 1 hdmi to the ps4 - Split 2 port cable from the headset to the box - USB from the headset to the box - Headphones from your to the headset cord
But once I got it on, it was really kind of crazy. I had not done VR before, and the sense of placement in the world was pretty crazy. I only opened the Batman VR game and walked around checking that everything worked, which was still pretty impressive not having seen anything like this before.

Daemon X Machina on Switch... taking a break from story mode for online co-op Armored Core type fun.
Tales of Vesperia Definitive on Switch. I've been a fan of the series since Destiny on PS1, and for some reason the characters and story arent grabbing me much 8 hours in :/

They're probably burned out by trying to cater to Eastern and Western audiences. From early translated interviews that I've read the Tales team initially only catered to Japanese audiences, with translated versions being a smaller goal further down the road. It's a whole new industry to the grizzled old devs that have remained.

I beat Cosmic Star Heroine. It was pretty decent, but could have been better. Hopefully the sequel will be better. Haven't picked Alwa back up just yet. Been playing River City girls instead.

I bought a CSH physical a while back but haven't really played it yet. I like the art style though for sure.
Been playing through Last of Us Remastered and DOOM (2016) on my Pro. I've yet to clear either. Also playing through Shenmue 2 finally with my wife in tow. That copy of 3 on my shelf is still making fun of me for wasting the twenty years I had to play it for more than a few hours.

Did a Gradius date this last weekend played Gradius II FC, Gradius III SNES (shut up), Parodius PCE, and some Gradius Rebirth on Wii. Was a really fun day honestly!

I'm currently planning on starting a New Game+ in Bloodstained. I find that game addictive, now that I'm accustomed to its shortcomings and past the rougher patches early in the game.
I really wish Konami would allow the Rebirth trilogy to be ported to newer platforms. By all accounts those were all great fun.

I’m playing Link’s Awakening on Switch.
Obviously every single element of the game was replaced. I beat this multiple times when it came out on GB and at least twice when the DX version came out.
I’d say this game is extremely close in feel to the original, even though it’s full of animation and color and music and all sorts of things a Gameboy can barely do at all. I say it’s authentic because when I sit down to play it without distractions I can make steady progress for hours, maybe beating two dungeons in one sitting. Then when I pick it up the next day it takes me the exact same quantity of time to achieve absolutely nothing at all because I can’t remember what I was doing or WTF I’m supposed to do next. It’s that true to the original game!
One of the things that makes Zelda special is that never have to grind or gain levels or anything. You can walk right out of a dungeon and get right to work on the next thing without going back to the shop and buying 99 potions with the help of a turbo controller. However this same free-flowing nature makes it profoundly difficult to guess what the next step is if it has slipped your mind because you had to stop playing for some reason. Watching play throughs and looking at FAQs helps but that’s also very time consuming since every inch of the game looks the same.

Gradius 2 Famicom is enormously impressive to my eyes. It's one of only a handful of physical carts that I own for the system. Gradius Rebirth doesn't get enough respect. It's almost as snazzy looking as Gaiden on PS1.
